Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas to all my lovely followers! I just wanted to let you all know this post went up at exactly 12AM Christmas morning and knowing me, I'm still awake! Eagerly awaiting Christmas breakfast, all the presents under the tree, the fun I'll be having with family! Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, and not just because of the presents (although I do love them!!!) but because of the simple, general feel of the holidays. When I was a kid, I used to stay up as late as I possibly could, waiting for Santa, hoping to hear his reindeer on the roof, but never being able to stay away late enough. I'd wake up in the morning to find all the cookies were gone, the carrots for the reindeer were eaten, and massive amounts of gifts appeared under the tree! Although, now that I'm 21 and no longer believe in Santa, Christmas hasn't lost it's magical luster! I'm still a huge lover of Christmas and I absolutely love giving :)

My family's Christmas traditions always start with us going to Grandma's for Christmas Eve dinner, and most recently we started doing White Elephant because all the grand children are grown up! Christmas morning my parents and I wake up and have coffee, open presents, watch the yule log. Then we go to my Grandpa's for Christmas breakfast with my dad's side of the family and we all open our gifts, drink mimosas and celebrate together.

I'm definitely excited to share Christmas with all of you this year and I would love to hear your Christmas traditions. You don't celebrate Christmas? Well that's fine! What do you celebrate and what kinds of traditions does your holiday involve every year?

  2. Christmas is my favorite holiday as well! I love everything about it. Although I feel so odd now when talking to so many US/UK people, since we celebrate the 24th here in Sweden! Haha. I did have an awesome day yesterday though with lots of fun, yummy food and so wonderful gifts. I really hope you will as well! :D

We spend with my dad and family on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas Day we go to a friend's house to spend it with her family (of which we were like, practically adopted into).

  5. Here in the Philippines, we stay up all night, eat our noche buenas(Christmas feast) and exchange gifts during the 24th. Then the next day after we tour all over the neighborhood for our pamasko(gifts either on cash or in kind) we go to Church and either go out to watch movies or stay at the house for a party game. It's really fun, especially when my cousins are around, since I'm an only child. :)

PS. The mimosas sounds lovely. Merry Christmas!

  7. Clare, I want to tell you, again, I love you. Our love has been the thread through the labyrinth, the net under the high-wire walker, the only real thing in this strange life of mine that I could ever trust. Flights to Freetown
