TGIF at GReads - This feature is for Fridays to re-cap the week's posts & to propose a question for GReads! followers.

Promote An Author: Is there a particular author you wish got more recognition? Pick one author & tell us why we should read their work.

Actually... this is an incredibly hard question for me to answer.. I feel like most of the authors I love and am totally obsessed with at the moment are loved by a lot of people. Some of my favorite authors, that popped into mind when I read this question, include Lauren Oliver (I actually have all of her books), Moira Young (her writing style is AMAZING!), Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky legit made my heart hurt), and so many others! I feel like every time I read a book I connect with the author on some level, so it's hard for me to pick out someone whose books aren't really well known at the moment for some reason :(

  1. Fabulous choices. :D I love, love, love Blood Red Road--it's one of my favorite dystopians--and I agree, her writing is fantastic. I know I definitely couldn't pull off a narration like that. I just finished Under the Never Sky a couple days ago and it was wonderful; I wish Through the Ever Night was already out. >_> And Lauren Oliver, well . . . I think it's a universally acknowledged fact that her writing is ridiculously gorgeous.

  2. I haven't read Moira Young's Blood Red Road, but I TOTALLY WANT TO. I've heard it's amazing and the adventure is crazy. I completely agree with you on Veronica Rossi and Lauren Oliver, though. Under the Never Sky completely blew me away with the world-building and don't even get me started ON THE CHARACTERS. I just loved the hell out of them. Lauren Oliver is a heart-stabber. She can write emotion so well and so vividly that it makes her stories indisputably fabulous.

  3. Those are great picks! I absolutely loved Blood Red Road. Moira Young does have a fantastic writing style. I still haven't read Under the Never Sky, but it's at the top of my list.

  4. I have heard fabulous things about all three authors! But oddly enough I haven’t read a single thing by any of them! I need to remedy that, plus it has been a really long time since I read something heart wrenching so I might be due to read Under the Never Sky! Thanks for the recommendations!
