Waiting on Wednesday [44] - The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna

****"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.****

The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna
Expected Publication Date: August 28th, 2012
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Page Count: 432 Pages
Goodreads | Amazon | IndieBound
Eva’s life is not her own. She is a creation, an abomination—an echo. Made by the Weavers as a copy of someone else, she is expected to replace a girl named Amarra, her “other”, if she ever died. Eva studies what Amarra does, what she eats, what it’s like to kiss her boyfriend, Ray. So when Amarra is killed in a car crash, Eva should be ready.

But fifteen years of studying never prepared her for this.

Now she must abandon everything she’s ever known—the guardians who raised her, the boy she’s forbidden to love—to move to India and convince the world that Amarra is still alive.
Why I Can't Wait: This book just sounds ridiculously awesome! It's something I've never really heard of before, and if it's done well I can totally see it being fantastic! I'm really excited to read this one!! What are you waiting on this week?

  2. I love the new design! :-D
I am also waiting on this one and will definitely be featuring it sometime! What an interesting way to deal with loss. Getting someone to pretend to be who just died! That is crazy. And what a horrible life for the clone. Having to leave everything she knows to pretend to be someone else and to live that life.
