Would you live through the ultimate test of survival? Why I Can't Wait: So like... this book just sounds kick ass and awesome. Let's be honest here. Alts? HOW COOL OF A CONCEPT IS THAT?! Also, I requested this book on NetGalley and was thoroughly denied, which made me cry.
The city of Kersh is a safe haven, but the price of safety is high. Everyone has a genetic Alternate—a twin raised by another family—and citizens must prove their worth by eliminating their Alts before their twentieth birthday. Survival means advanced schooling, a good job, marriage—life.
Fifteen-year-old West Grayer has trained as a fighter, preparing for the day when her assignment arrives and she will have one month to hunt down and kill her Alt. But then a tragic misstep shakes West’s confidence. Stricken with grief and guilt, she’s no longer certain that she’s the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future. If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from her Alt, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.
Elsie Chapman’s suspenseful YA debut weaves unexpected romance into a novel full of fast-paced action and thought-provoking philosophy. When the story ends, discussions will begin about this future society where every adult is a murderer and every child knows there is another out there who just might be better.
Make sure you guys check out my mystery box giveaway that went up yesterday! LOTS OF GOOD THINGS!

HAHA I was denied too :-( But to make ourselves feel better I think they gave out a very limited number until closer to release date so maybe then we can request again and get it. I LOVE the concept. Having to kill your evil twin but really how do you know who is evil?! I can't wait!!!

I'm very excited for this one, too! Something I've never noticed before, though - the girl walking away is holding the knife and gun down at her sides. But her shadow? Elbows bent. Hmmm. : ) Faux pas, perhaps?
